Mysore: Philip and Kerina Omondi
Philip and Kerina Omondi
As a student in an Indian University in the 1990’s, Philip started a student fellowship that especially attracted African students. Out of this simple beginning, Destiny Centre opened in November 2000. Kerina was one of the active members of this multi-cultural church. After both Philip and Kerina completed their studies, they returned to Kenya for a wedding. But their calling was clearly in Mysore, India. They returned to pastor Destiny Center. Today, the church has students from universities in Mysore and also local families. There is a strong presence of worship, prayer, cell groups, discipleship and leadership training. They are also reaching out to the Indo-African community of Siddi in the northern part of Karnataka State in India.
